Click here to open the 2005-06 application for renewing schools.  The format has been streamlined to emphasize the work around improving core instruction.  You will recognize familiar components, such as supplemental materials, incentives, and tutors.    We have, however, eliminated the position of Home School Coordinator and are no longer funding Parent Center operations. (Schools may elect to assign  the current Home School Coordinator functions to a BRI tutor or can name someone else to fulfill some early literacy/preK functions, all as explained on page nine under   " Early Literacy Connections "  ).  

Some of the items may apply only to new school applicants; simply leave these items blank or indicate $0. 

To calculate your  approximate budget amount for next year, multiply this year's funding total by .75 (75%).   The application should be completed on-line, as dollar amounts will be calculated automatically and recorded on the budget summary page. 

When using the Excel File "0506TemplateBRI", you should first save a copy with a new name on your desktop. A suggested name would be "0506Proposalyourschoolname".

There are 13 pages in this file. Each page is viewed as a tab at the bottom of the file as P1, P2, etc...

P13 is automatically calculated for you.

In Column A of the file there are places for you to input text or mark check boxes. If you are required to input text, there is an underlined box showing an input location.

In Columns B-E, these are numerical entries only. Some entries require dollar amounts, others require a numerical entry, i.e. # of kits to be ordered.

You will notice that several calculation are made for you, you will not be able to edit these boxes.

Remember to save your completed document ,  giving it a new name , before e-mailing to the  BRI's  Jackson office at fcurtis@msreads.org   no later than   Monday April 18 , 2005.   We will confirm receipt of your proposal by return e-mail.   Please allow two weeks for processing, but don't hesitate to call if you have questions (601/359-1396).
